The Schaffhausen Declaration on inter-religious Dialogue

1. We are thankful to live here in Schaffhausen and we appreciate the religious freedom that grants everyone the right to practice his or her religion.

2. We recognize the constitution and the liberal democratic system, we respect traditions and we are committed to participate in building the society.

3. We respect the multiplicity of cultures, religions and opinions, We see this as enrichment and we are open for contacts with others.

4. We are prepared to take part in dialogue and thus to make our contribution to live together in mutual respect.

5. We campaign against any violence in the name of religion and do all we can to promote the cause of peace.
